Minot Flood

Travis and I went to college at Minot State University.  We met as RA's (Resident Assistants) at MSU.  A week after we were married we moved into one of the Residence Halls and became Hall Directors of that hall for the next two years.  We left Minot State in August 1996 and have many fond memories of the campus as well as the city.  It is heartbreaking for us to see the devastation on TV as well as hear updates from our friends in the area.  We lift everyone in that region up in our prayers.

(If you click on the pic you'll see a larger pic for better detail.)

Near the bottom center of the above pic is the church where I (Rhonda) worshipped during college. The high rise building to the north is Lura Manor - where Trav was an RA. The earthen dike is down University Avenue, which spans in front of campus.

Speechless...

Before you know it, we'll be needing a snowblower.  At least it is safe!

 Burger King near Oak Park.

Shopping Center near Oak Park - this is where we would grab groceries.

Great service station - Harley's did lots of work on our cars!

Another pic showing campus to the north.

Just across the street from Minot State is Little Flower Catholic Church and Elementary School.  Very sad.

This is a Middle School between the Souris River and Minot State.  Over 1,000 elementary and middle school students have been displaced because their schools have significant flooding.
Model Hall - on the edge of Minot State's campus.

The north/south road on the right side is Broadway - a major artery in Minot.  Note the earthen dike as well as the secondary dike.  Campus is near the very top of this pic.

Another pic of Little Flower School and Church.

Another pic of Augustana, with Lura Manor and Minot State to the north.

Model Hall on Minot State's campus.  The parking lot where you can see seepage on the right is where we parked when we were hall directors.  Our building (Crane Hall) can be seen on the very right side of this pic.

 Minot State University is dry!
Another pic of the shopping center.
