Procrastinating...with updates!

I'm procrastinating...I should be working on my literature review, but I don't feel like it. Instead, I'd love to play with the kids (although Grace is napping right now and Carson is over at a neighbor kid's house), I see all sorts of things in the house I could clean or organize, it is beautiful outside so I could go for a nice walk or work in the flower beds...oh the things I could be doing!!! So, a quick blog update and then I promise I will get back to work!

On Friday Trav got the 'all clear' - his throat his healing well and he doesn't need to see the ENT again. :)

Family Fun Night at school was just that...a night of family fun. Carson came home with tattoos-a-plenty. Both kids enjoyed the fish pond, the book walk, bottle shop and more. It is a great fundraiser for the PTAC (Parent, Teacher Advisory Council). Fun night!

Yesterday, the kids and I plus Grammy went down to my Auntie JoAnn's in northern SD. My dad's siblings were all gathering there (four Aunties, one Uncle, plus my Dad and then two in-law Uncles). Four of my first cousins were there and Carson and Grace played with nine of their second cousins. Since both of my Grandparents are gone on that side (and have been for 18/20 years), it seems to be harder to get everyone together. It was a special day with good food and chances to see each other.

Grace had no time for a nap yesterday - after all she might miss something (how she knows this is how I operated at the same age is beyond me). I set up the pack-and-play in the basement, since it would be quieter. We rocked for a bit and she wanted to play "I'm a little teapot!". Very hard to resist those blue eyes and that adorable smile. After a bit I put her down in the pack-and-play and told her it was time to sleep. Elmo, baby and favorite blanket were there, so I had high hopes. I also had to go to the bathroom. I slipped out of the room, planning to return after my quick trip. I was back within about a minute and there she was - out of the pack-and-play, smiling at me and closing the door to the bedroom. She was all smiles. I knew a nap was not in her immediate future. After more playtime, she did nap for a bit in my arms later in the afternoon. It was very cuddly for both of us.

Carson slept most of the way home (little over an hour drive) and was ready for supper when we got home. He was very excited that Papa Chip and Loni stayed at our house last night. He is not interested in 'sharing' Papa Chip with Grace. He's announced that Papa Chip is 'his' Papa Chip and not Grace's. I went through a very similar experience at a young age and didn't want to share my Grandpa Brager (maternal Grandfather) with pesky younger brother, Corey. Hopefully Carson comes around soon - he's not very happy when Papa Chip is holding and/or playing with Grace. No mention if new cousin Jack can share Papa Chip or not...

Okay, my blogging timer is up. Time to get typing on the research.

I remember Rhonda.... and you didn't want to share your Grandpa B. with cousin Brian, either!
