This past week was a busy one, but we got a lot got done!
Carson ran in the Youth Run on Saturday, May 17 as a part of the Fargo Marathon festivities.
Trav continued work on the patio - it's done and it is beautiful! Now if the wind would only settle down we could enjoy some meals out there!
Cleaned house extensively - deep cleaning and all of that fun - for our home visit as well as just to have it done. Been great to not have any indoor stuff to worry about this weekend. We've been able to enjoy the outdoors.
We started work on the garden yesterday and finished (but are we ever finished?) planting perennials in our outdoor beds.
Still a lot to be done outside - step for patio area, finish planting garden, finish rocking in perennial beds, set up playset and sandbox, bullet brick in the playset area, fill playset area with pea gravel (or someother good material), stain the playset and keep working on our fuzzy lawn. Whew...perhaps I won't show this list to Trav quite yet! ;) I mentioned to him yesterday that next spring, with just a garden to plant, he'll be pretty bored. He didn't find humor in my comment...at least yet!
We received some much-needed rain on Saturday night - at least 1/2 inch. After growing up in western North Dakota/eastern Montana, I know 'dry' is a relative term. That area is so dry right now; moisture is very much needed. So, our 'dry' is very different from their 'dry'. However, we were thankful to received the moisture we did on Saturday night.
We planted a bunch of trees this past week too. We planted three last fall and added nine more to the yard (some day they will help with all of this wind!)
Carson is winding down first grade. Seems like school is late getting out this year - June 4 is his last day. They have a field trip to a zoo this week, plus add on today off for Memorial Day, he's down to a three-day week this week and next week. Just like his countdown until he turned seven, he's now on a countdown to second grade.
Carson's had a slight cold the past few days, but thankfully it hasn't turned into a raging cold. Hopefully it doesn't get worse. He's supposed to have labs this week, but if he has some viral crud still hanging on we might wait a week on labs.
Time to get some things done...I'm off to make muffins for my little 'muffin man'!
