Three words we've been dreading for quite some time.
Apparently someone told Grace that since she is three she can do ANYTHING! The sky is the limit! Shoot for the stars!
Well, she put her mind to it (I don't think Miss 39.5 inches tall had to work very hard at this) and she can climb out of her crib with ease. We've been putting off transitioning her to a bed for quite some time. With her sensory issues, Grace actually likes boundaries. The crib is great for her music therapy too.
It all started on Thursday. She got out several times.
I took Friday off of work and Trav doesn't teach on Friday. Goal was to get a bunch of stuff done. I'm a morning person, so came downstairs about 5:30 a.m. to work on my research.
At 6:30 I heard some sounds upstairs. I heard the 'click' of a door and figured Carson was in the bathroom. In less than a minute I was greeted by a voice from behind me: "Mama! I got out!". This was coming from a groggy, but smiling little girl who was rather proud of her accomplishment.
At yesterday's nap time she was pretty tired so she stayed put, but we got our exercise last night as she climbed out at least 8 times before she finally fell asleep. (Not sure how many times it was as Trav and I each took a few!).
This morning Grace's wake up call came a bit before 6:00. I was sleeping in, so bless her heart for waking up early. Once again, "I got out!" greeted me as I chased after her down the steps.
Looks like we'll be converting the crib into the toddler day bed very soon and probably plan for buying a big girl bed this summer.
So thank you to the individual who inspired Grace to reach for the stars, or at least tell her she was tall enough to climb out of her crib with ease.
We appreciate it!
