The summer is zooming by. We really can't believe it is already July. Once we hit the 4th it seems the summer is about or at least close to half over. It's been a busy summer - Trav's class keeps him on the road two days a week and prepping for fall courses has been hectic for him this summer. He's also had an extensive 'honey do' list and our yard and garden look amazing, thanks to Trav. We are loving the lettuce, spinach and strawberries. A rhubarb harvest will happen tomorrow and potentially the first tomatoes to come off the vine this week too. The potatoes are huge and the onions, carrots and garlic are doing well. Most things have bounced back from the awful hail storm a few weeks ago.
We have 14 days of student orientation this summer, which keeps me busy at NDSU. It's also 'dig out' time for many projects and time to prep and plan for the upcoming academic year. Summer is quieter in terms of student traffic in our office, but there certainly isn't any 'down time'. We have freshman orientation all through this week and then a break from orientation until August.
The next few weeks are busy for Carson with summer activities; he's had tennis, golf, baseball and horse so far this summer. This week swimming is added in. He has art class later this summer too. His favs seem to be tennis, golf and baseball. Swimming was off to a good start tonight.
Grace is in swimming through day care and she also rides horse once a week. She longs to be in baseball 'just like brother'. We'll have to look if at what age t-ball starts as we have a player on our hands. She loves watching Major League Baseball. We'd love to get down to the new Target Field this year for a Twins game, but I don't think we'll fit it in.
Just a few more weeks until the big wedding the kids are in. We'll also be prepping and getting ready for the Transplant Games in Madison at the end of the month/early August. We're very excited for that! Then just a few weeks and classes start up at MSCTC and NDSU the third week in August.
As Grace would say "Holy Moly!"
Here's to a bunch more beautiful summer days and hopefully some still, wind-less nights of smores by the firepit!

Grace will be a very good ball player; I am sure of that. I do think that she will be old enough for T-ball next summer. I'm quite sure that Diondrey was in it by age 4 in Fargo. Moorhead must be pretty similar in their guidelines.
