I'm going to try to get fairly caught up with blogging our trip today (hopefully).
Last Wednesday dawned and we did a few things around the village first. We took the kids to the Castle of Miracles. Carson put his name on his star and put in in a box for the Star Fairy. Both kids got to make magic pillows (gifts for every child at the village, not just the wish kid). Then we went to Sea World. When we arrived and showed Carson's 'Boss' Button, we were asked if we'd like preferred or handicap parking. We indicated 'preferred'. That landed us right next to the valet parking and about 1/2 a block from the entrance. WOW!
We enjoyed so much at Sea World. We had planned to stay only a couple of hours - primarily see the Shamu show (Believe). However, we enjoyed much more and ended up staying six!
We saw the dolphin nursery, the penguin encounter, and manatee rescue. We had our pic taken with Shamu (a 'character' Shamu, not the real deal). The park was decked out for the holidays, so our backdrop was Santa's sleigh. Looks kinda funny to see the kids in shorts!
At the shark encounter, Trav bought a tray of fish for Carson to feed the sharks (small sharks, not great whites or anything). When the worker later saw Carson's button she brought him two more trays of shark food. He loved it.
We also went to see a dolphin feeding. When the Sea World employee saw Carson's button we were led to a behind the scenes area. He got to feed a bunch of dolphins and we all got to pet them. It was amazing! Others with us had paid for a VIP behind-the-scenes tour. Shortly after the dolphin feeding Grace fell asleep.
We all loved the Believe show with Shamu. It was very impressive.
Carson had a great time at the Xtreme Zone - a jumping attraction. He got into a harness and basically got to jump on a huge trampoline. Another instance of when the employees saw his button, it was complementary.
We finished out the day at Journey to Atlantis - a combo of a roller coaster and water ride. Carson and Trav went first. Just as they got in line it started to rain. Actually pour. Grace and I found cover under an alcove area, but we missed the boys coming down the falls. By the end of the ride the rain had passed. Carson wanted to go again - this time Carson picked me to go. Gulp. Off we went. He giggled as I asked him if I would be staying dry. As we loomed at the top of the falls I couldn't believe what I had gotten myself into. I held my breath. Carson giggled and laughed the entire way down. My stomach was left about mid-way down I think. We got soaked and Carson loved it. After another trip on it with Daddy, he was finally done (and soaked to the skin).
We made our way to the exit and our amazing parking location.
Back to the villa and we decided to head to the GKTW pool. It is always heated to 80 degrees. Dark clouds were on their way, so we hurried. We were in the pool less than five minutes when the clouds opened up. We were soaked as we ran the 1/2 block to our villa. It poured for a few hours.
Rather than heading out for supper we ordered pizza through GKTW. They even made a special pizza for Carson - pepperoni and sauce (no cheese). Grace was in bed pretty early. We told Carson there would be a surprise at 8:00 p.m. He needed to be all ready for bed for the surprise to happen.
Promptly at 8:00 there was a knock at our door. Carson opened it and it was Mayor Clayton - a 6+ foot bunny. He is Mayor of GKTW. He was there to tuck Carson in to bed. Carson's eyes were huge. Mayor Clayton tucked Carson into his bed, checked under the bed for dust bunnies, gave Grace a kiss and adjusted her blanket and then crawled into the bed next to Carson. Carson had to tickle him to get him to wake up. Mayor Clayton then re-tucked Carson into bed and was off on his way. It was adorable.
Time for bed for all of us - we were tired after such a fun day. We knew Thursday would be another great and special day!
