Christmas was wonderful - it's hard to summarize more than what you can see in the pics. The kids' expressions were priceless. Carson got enough Lego sets to rival Legoland at Mall of America. Grace is in love with her doll house. It was a great Christmas.
Up until the part where my Mom and Grandma couldn't make it 5 miles from Fargo to Moorhead for Christmas Day dinner.
Thank you, Christmas blizzard!
We did have a very relaxing holiday and are thankful that everyone was safe and sound.
We had a great family day on December 30 - Carson had a dentist appt. in the morning. He LOVES the dentist so that's a bonus (he certainly doesn't get that from me!!!). We went on a horse-drawn sleigh ride that afternoon and Carson and Trav did a bit of sledding. Grace and I watched from inside the van - we were cold. We had Grammy (my Mom) and our dear friend Danie and her little girl Eve over for supper and cake. Throughout the day we played a bunch of games too and did a lot of cozying. Very special day as we relieve the events of that day one and eight years ago. We closed out the evening with all of us in our bed and we read some of our favorite bedtime stories. As Carson has grown, our tradition has become to look at his two transplant scrapbooks that day as well, so after a very tired Miss Grace was tucked into bed, that's what we did. He is starting to really comprehend just how sick he was before his transplant. It's hard to explain to him, but he is asking more questions. He has not yet connected or asked where his liver came from. We will continue to answer his questions honestly as he asks.
I was back at work on New Years Eve - I dug out a bit. We had a very wild night that evening. We watched Polar Express in 3-D, although Grace wasn't a big fan of the 3 D glasses. It was a great movie and we had a fun time watching it. We were all to bed before 10 p.m. As I said - a very wild night!
After a cold start to 2010, we're hoping for a bit of a warm up. Saturday morning was -34 at our house (that is without windchill). It's a balmy 8 degrees above as I type tonight. Practically sun tan weather in Minnesota!
