2009. Done. Canyoubelieveit?!?
The end of a decade seems a bit more significant. As I rewind and think where we were 10 years ago...well, of course we were gearing up for and questioning the Y2K hype. Would the world stop? Of course we know the answer. :)
I scrapbooked a little scrapbook early in 2001 as a look back on the year 2000.
Ten years ago we were living in a two bedroom apartment with our two cats. We were thinking about buying a home (which we did later in 2000).
I started working at NDSU in August 1999. Travis had started Grad School at NDSU in August 1999.
Yes, I even did a price chart. I'm a nerd but I love looking at that part of my baby book! So, I included it in the scrapbook.
Bananas - 49 cents/pound
A can of pop - 60 cents
A first class stamp - 33 cents
1 gallon of milk - $2.76
1 gallon of gas - $ 1.23 (WOW!!!!!)
I have some other price comparisons too...cheetos, can of soup, our cable bill, haircut, oatmeal. It's interesting...
We had a lot of trips to Barnes and Noble. It was quiet and very relaxing.
We had been married for nearly 6 years. We knew we wanted to start thinking about a family. We were very excited about having a family. We wondered so many 'what if's'.
Fast forward...we're on our third house. We've been married nearly 16 years. We both have master's degrees and I'm slowly getting through my research for a Ph.D. I promise to graduate before our kids do!!! We are so blessed with a strong marriage, good jobs, and of course, two amazing and wonderful kids.
Now fast, fast forward.
Where will we be ten years from now. We'll have an 18 year-old and a 12 year-old (soon to be 19 and 13, respectively).
YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where is the pause button?!?!?!?!?!?!?
