We're off!

We leave tomorrow for a few days and we're excited about all that is to come! The cats and fish will be in good hands with our neighbor Tim looking in on them often. No parties for the felines this time around!

On Monday we had great news about Carson's eyes - they are still perfect! We're having them checked every year now and for the last two years they are the same and perfect! No glasses needed! YAHOO! Came home to find Grace had been busy in the afternoon - coming down with impetigo. Are we the infectious disease family or what?!? So, after a quick call to the doc, both kids are now on meds so they don't keep passing this back and forth. Ten days of antibiotics and then we hopefully have killed it off. GOOD TIMES!

We enjoyed a picnic last night organized by Grace's therapy group. Magic show, tattoos, fish pond, funky hair stations and more. It was a beautiful evening to be outside!

Tonight we had our church directory pics taken. Our last pic was over 5 years ago. We had a young little Carson. So much has changed since that pic, so we're happy to have an updated pic and new directories out in 2010!

We're packing tonight and will hopefully finish by mid-morning tomorrow. We are on our way to see the Maanums tomorrow for our first stop. Jody and I were best friends through high school. Can't wait to see her and her family! Then we'll head on to St. Cloud where we'll stay a night with Papa Ron and Nana Jane. We can't wait to see them and for Grace to show off so many of her new tricks and words that she's learned the last few months. Maybe, just maybe they'll get to see Grace's skill of clothing removal in her record time fashion. Carson is very excited to stay too (although he better not ask for your famous chicken noodle soup in this heat, Nana Jane!!!).

We've kept this a secret for quite some time, but we are meeting two very special people on Friday morning - Grace's Birthmom and Birthgrandma. We have had some precious communication through letters and are excited to meet face-to-face at Papa Ron and Nana Jane's house. We will share more later, but wanted to ask for your thoughts and prayers as we all nervously meet on Friday morning. We feel it all will go very well and look forward to building a relationship with these special people!

Then it is on to the Cities!!! One of Carson's girlfriends, Sherryse, is getting married on Saturday. Still can't believe you are off the market, Sherryse! Jeff is one lucky guy and Sherryse is a lucky gal. They are a great couple! Carson will be ring bearer at their wedding on Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday we need to boogey home - we have the horse therapy picnic at 2:00. This is where the kids show their stuff in what they learned this summer in horse. The BBQ is always a good time (but also marks the end of summer/start of classes).

By Sunday evening, I'm pretty sure we'll be ready for a glass of wine and a nap! Will be a great weekend though and we're excited for all of the adventures!

Wow! What a busy family you are. Carson -- you will be a very handsome ringbearer. You are experienced at this, so you are a pro by now. Love and Lots of prayers, Auntie Diane
