I'm not sure who the author is of this...whoever wrote it, it really hits home!
The scar is long. It represents the days we spent in the hospital, time waiting for labs, waiting for a child to come out of yet another surgery.
The scar is deep. It represents how a heart feels, cut so deep when learning of the liver disease their child has.
The scar is Red. It represents the color of Mommy's eyes when they stand over a child begging them to get better. Begging God to let them live one more day.
The scar is a symbol. It represents life and death. The life of a child saved, the life of another person lost.
The scar is bumpy. It represents the bumps in the road that we all go through, some bigger than others, some lasting longer than others.
The scar is a memory. it represents a place in time when something old was replaced with something new.
The scar is an honor, it should never be made fun of. It should be wore with honor. It should be loved and admired by all.
Some times I look at the scar and get angry, then I see the smile above the scar and know it's all worth it!

Love this.
I hope Carson will understand how beautiful his scars are to us, his family. They are a reminder of huge blessings and a rescue from great heartaches !
