Happy Labor Day!

Can tomorrow really be Labor Day? Can it really be September 1st? It has certainly been a wonderful summer. We got so much landscaping done outside - we have quite a few trees (although they need to grow a lot more before we'll have shade), we have a beautiful patio, we're enjoying the harvest of our garden, and we have a lot of perennials as well. Carson was in many great activities - baseball, horse therapy, golf, day camp, art camp, and more. And, of course, (most importantly) we became parents to a beautiful, precious and amazing daughter, Grace. Quite the summer!

Grace is getting cuter and cuter by the day (how is that possible)? She is such a girly-girl and enjoys seeing the bows and stuff I put in her hair. Now as soon as I come with one, she says 'pretty' and we 'ohh' and 'ahhh' in the mirror. :) She'll be 18 months old next Saturday - she is showing no signs of the terrible twos. She is such a happy kid! Carson was too, particularly once he started signing. His tantrums really decreased and signing made all of the difference in the world for him. We have truly been blessed with two kids with such happy personalities. They are both silly too, so that is very fun!

Carson and I cleaned out his closet tonight. He had so many things he had grown out of over the summer! It was a productive evening. :)

We had wanted to do a lot of outside stuff this weekend - perhaps the zoo, a picnic, playground time, etc. It has been so, so windy that being outside is not enjoyable. We had Grammy and Great Grandma over for supper last night and we couldn't eat outside because of the wind. Hopefully it settles down tomorrow. Guess we can't complain though...

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the path of hurricane Gustav. I have an auntie and her family in Louisiana and we pray they are okay though all of this.

That's all for today! Take care!
