Happy Fall

The leaves are turning - today has turned into a nice fall day. Love it when it is sunny and warms up a bit with the cool nights. We've enjoyed several evenings around the fire pit lately - so cozy and yummy (with S'mores, of course!).

I added pics from the park a few weeks ago, along with Carson's recognition at Cub Scouts and Grace's haircut (she really didn't cry through all of it - the pics are kinda funny to look at now...she hardly ever cries so it was interesting she got so upset...but she sure liked the 'pretties' in her hair at the end). Also pics of Grace's first big art project with us - she decorated a pig in one of her therapy sessions. She is very proud of it and likes to admire it on the frig quite often. :-)

The photo session was amazing on Saturday. We went to Alissa J Photography. I highly recommend her. She is a local woman with a studio in her home. She is wonderful with kids (and has toys in her basement to put them at ease). We were there for an hour and a half (no, we are not crazy). I packed a suitcase for clothing changes for the kids (Trav rolled his eyes just a bit). It worked out so well - and the kiddos were amazing! We have many individual shots of both and a lot of Carson and Grace together. Plus family pics. We can pick up our CD in about a week - then we're able to order whatever pics we want from wherever we want. She said she'd never seen an 18-month-old hang in like Grace had. She was such a trooper. Of course, playing dress up helped! Carson did a great job too. We were so proud of him. Can't wait to share some of the pics!

We watched the Bison game on TV on Saturday (while Grace napped most of it away) and after the win we played outside. Trav and Carson flew some kites (because of course we almost always have wind for kites) and Grace and I cheered them on. Check our our pics with our NDSU gear on - Go Bison! as well as the kite pics.

We enjoyed visits from good friends Katie and Liz on Sunday - so good to see both of you and have both of you meet Grace! Carson was excited as well.

Back to work yesterday - it is going to be a busy few weeks before we leave for the trip.

In basement news, sheetrocking will happen this weekend! Kids and I may be around town to avoid some of the noise, dust, etc. Our wonderful neighbor, Tim, is helping us out. Tim has his own home repair and remodeling business -if you are in the area and need anything done, check out his info. He's honest, reliable and a great guy. His business is From Studs to Rugs.

The taping and mudding will begin on Monday. We decided to hire that out. They'll be done in a week. Then we can paint! We're shopping for doors this week and will check out trim, etc. At some point Trav will need to put the floor down in the bathroom too. Won't take long to get the carpet in...so potentially before we leave on our trip the basement will be done. Yes, I am an optimist!!!

I've updated Grace's word/sign list - she is learning so quickly!

That's all from here - I need to work on our Disney itinerary a bit, so will sign off for now!

Happy Fall!
