Happy Halloween!

We're just getting in from a fun night with a scary pirate and an adorable princess. Both were so great in their costumes. Carson wasn't too keen on long 'itchy' hair and the earring (perhaps this translates into a clean cut teenager?), but he looked good. Grace loved her dress, purse and tiara. Have I mentioned she is a girly-girl?

Had a fun night going to Grammy's, our old neighborhood, and a stop to see Carson's favorite teacher. Once we got home, it was jammies time for Grace and Trav and Carson went through the neighborhood. Grace and I played with playdoh for a bit (we handed out mini-sized playdoh along with some candy this year - perfect for kids with allergies - also a 'sugar-free treat'!). Grace did a great job of signing and saying 'help' when she wanted the lid off of the playdoh container. She wasn't too sure about some of the kids at our door. She was excited to hear the doorbell ring, but stuck to me like Velcro.

Carson had a great time tonight - although he thought the concept of 'shaving' his beard off tonight was a bit silly. ;-)

Appointment-wise it has been a fairly quiet week. That has been refreshing. Not that there is nothing to do around here! We're cleaning and starting to think through what we'll be packing. We'll be gone nearly two weeks. We'll need Florida (warm weather) bags as well as Minnesota (hopefully not too cold) bags.

Carson has his last day of horse therapy tomorrow until the spring program starts up. Looks to be a nice day!

Trav plans to stain trim and doors tomorrow in the basement. He also wants to get the tile around the fireplace. The basement won't be done before we go, but it will be very close. It's really come together and we know we'll enjoy the space for the holidays! Can't believe that Thanksgiving will be here just a week after we get back! December will be very hectic with school stuff, Sunday School, NDSU's commencement and the regular hustle and bustle of the season. It will be so special to see Christmas through both of our kids' eyes this year. We are also hoping and praying for Grace's finalization to happen in December. We likely won't know until just a few weeks before it happens (if that). Once her adoption is finalized, we have more flexibility with travel, who can stay at our home, care for Grace, etc. Of course, the most exciting aspect is that Grace will legally be a member of our family. She is in every other way already, but we can't wait for it to be official! I plan to take off December 29, 30, 31 to have a few extra days and to celebrate Carson's 7th transplant anniversary. Not sure what we'll do yet - probably a party on the 28th. Will plan more when we get closer.

Time to clean up a bit, be sure Carson brushed his teeth and get some things ready for tomorrow. Don't forget to change your clocks this weekend!
