We just can't make this stuff up

Trav has strep throat. Felt it coming on last night - had a rough night and his throat looked AWFUL this morning. He got in to the dr. at 10 this morning and the rapid strep test was positive.

I won't share the various words I had to say about the newest affliction in our family's course of diseases this winter.

So, not to feel left out of the throat culture swabbing, we got swabbed. So far, the rest of us are negative. Will see if anything grows out tomorrow. My throat was a bit sore today, so we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Carson did give us a good laugh at the mall this afternoon (our clinic is at the mall). As we strolled back from a snack in the food court Carson commented "Look - a store with Grace's middle name! Cool!"

Any guesses on the store? No, her name isn't Grace Gymboree or Gracy Macy.

It's Grace Victoria.

Yep, Carson was scoping out Victoria's Secret.

Thankfully he didn't request to go in or pause for any window shopping. If he would have pushed I probably would have sent Trav in with him. ;-)

Windows are going to be opened up in our house - freezing or not - tomorrow for at least 20 minutes. More cleaning extravaganza as well.

The doctor today also recommenced Trav consider having his tonsils out and set up an ENT consult for Monday morning for him. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? It likely is a good idea, but I know he'll wait until the semester is over and have it done sometime this summer. Will see what the ENT says.

The saddest part is that we were going to go to St. Cloud tonight. We had a fun trip planned - spend the night with Nana and Papa Brown, visit in the morning, spend some time with Sam and Will and then enjoy a Cathedral High School Hockey game. The hockey family were (and still are) a big part of Grace's story and life. We would have come back home late tomorrow night for Sunday School on Sunday.

Clearly we don't need to be spreading our disease and pestilence around the countryside, so we're staying put. Carson cried for 20 minutes before school this morning, as I thought the trip looked doubtful and wanted to prepare him for the potential. We're all so sad. We were so excited for this trip - even if it was quick.

Here's hoping that we can make it from March 1 - March 31 with no sickness in our house. Heck, even to the end of February would be nice at this point.
