We woke up in time to get Grace off to daycare on Thursday. We knew she'd be tired, but her teacher said she did a great job listening. We weren't sure how it would be after being on vaca for a week.
After unpacking all of the luggage and shopping deals for school shopping on Thursday, we just hung out. Carson was sneezing, coughing and downright sick all day. We had a very low-key day.
We did enjoy supper with potatoes, carrots and onions from the garden. YUMMY!
On Friday we put more stuff away. We washed all of Carson's new school clothes. Trav mowed our shaggy lawn and did some garden and lawn work. More of a low-key day was in store. Carson was running a temp by evening - up to 102. We knew if it didn't improve we'd be making a trip to the doctor in the morning. We had family movie night and watched two movies. Carson was so excited to see the Percy Jackson movie - he's read several of the books and is working his way through the series.
Thankfully by Saturday morning, Carson wasn't running a fever anymore. He still didn't feel very good though. Now Daddy and Grace were also sick with sneezing, sniffles and coughs. With the weather so hot and muggy outside, we stayed in and played games and just hung out. Daddy gathered tomatoes, garlic and basil from the garden and made his famous pesto sauce for supper. As always, it was incredible. We've decided we'll can pesto sauce this fall rather than spaghetti sauce. Will be extra good on those cold winter days!
