- Carson had Vacation Bible School Tuesday - Thursday evenings. He feel asleep early on Tuesday night and truly needed the rest since he still wasn't feeling very good. He did have a great time on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. I was once again the "Craft Queen" and in charge of crafts for all ages. It is a lot of fun and the kids are great.
- Carson started art class last week. It is four days/week and ran last week and this next week. He loves art class - he's been it in for several summers now. Lots of creativity!
- On Friday evening/night Carson and Trav went to the "Star Party" sponsored by Minnesota State University Moorhead at their Buffalo River Science Center - just a few miles out of town. They learned a lot about constellations, watched the moon and Venus set and spent a great deal of time slapping mosquitoes (despite the bug spray). Carson was pretty tuckered out by the time they arrived back home.
- Grace and I had a 'girls' evening at home. We painted her fingers and toes - an all-time favorite activity for Miss Princess. The most challenging part is to decide the color. Such stress!!! We played a bunch of games, snuggled, read books and snuggled some more. We've taught Grace "UNO" this summer and she is a pretty good Uno player. (Carson is the master so she has had a great teacher!)
- On Saturday morning we ventured to the Lobster and Lefse Festival (first annual) in town. It was so yummy! It was held at the Redhawks stadium, so the kids had hot dogs. They were just as happy as we were!
- After that we were off to the pool. The pool closed today (Sunday) for the season and we wanted to get there one more time. Since the weather wasn't that warm (and combined with the strong breeze) it wasn't exactly an awesome pool day. After a little over an hour, we were all ready to go home.
- So we went home and took naps - YEAH!!!
- After church this morning, we picked up goodies for a picnic and went to a local park. The kids played for a while and then we returned home for naps. YEAH again!!! Carson (still not feeling great) slept for 4 1/2 hours! He clearly needed the rest.
- Grace and I dashed to pick up lobsters after our naps. The Lobster and Lefse Festival wanted to get rid of all of their lobsters so they were selling Maine lobsters for $10/each. Considering they were just flown in fresh on Thursday or Friday we thought that was a pretty good deal. We bought 2 live ones and 2 frozen ones. Guess what we had for supper? The kids weren't impressed, so we found other goodies for them. We look forward to the meal of the two frozen ones - they keep for six months in the freezer but I know they won't last that long!
- Since we returned from Madison we've really enjoyed the garden harvests of carrots, tomatoes, potatoes and onions. It's been awesome and so fresh!
- Another busy week in store - new earmolds are in for Grace so she'll get those tomorrow. Carson gets new ones poured tomorrow. Classes start in a week, so campus is bustling.
- Stay tuned!
The journey of our family of four. We'll share a lot of things, but most of all, this blog is about celebrating life!

I love reading posts like this. Right now, I really enjoy the time that Jeff and I get to enjoy just the two of us. But reading posts like this really makes me look forward to the days when we can have great "family" times like you guys describe. I just love it.
