We got on the road at 7 last night. The closer we got to Grand Forks, the worse it looked. The last ten miles in to Grand Forks were horrible. In hindsight, we should have turned around. The clouds looked awful and the rain was coming down in sheets. We finally pulled in under an overhang at Holiday Inn Express and waited out the storm. We grabbed a bite to eat when it let up a bit and then we were on the road again.
The kids fell asleep before the border and we had an uneventful crossing. We forgot to ask that the kids' passports get stamped - we'll try to get them done when we come back.
We pulled in to Portage la Prairie at about 12:30. Unfortunately both kids woke up and Grace thought it was party time. Took a bit to get them both back to sleep. Carson was very excited to stay up until 1:00 a.m. Yeah, we were too, Carson.
The kids and Daddy are playing in the pool. It's still raining, so looks like dreary driving for a bit. Hopefully we've tired the kids out so there will be some sleeping along the way!
We should be in Swan River by mid-to-late afternoon!
