Praying

I'm thankful Mr. Carson has been asleep for over two hours now. Except to breathe, he hasn't moved. He crashed. Didn't even get his teeth brushed. Oh well. There are worse things.

Trav reports Grace was asleep early too. He was heading to bed early as well.

I'm tired, but can't sleep. Will be lights out (or as much as lights out can actually be lights out in a hospital) very soon though.

I don't want to hope too much, but I think Carson truly has turned the corner. He ate a decent amount for supper tonight and just looked better overall. Very thankful! I think we're starting to see Carson again!!! He really enjoyed a visit from Danie (even though she is married, he still loves her to pieces). He also had a visit from relatives Myron, Karn and Mallory - they brought him 1,000 questions for second graders. He wanted to cover all of them tonight (remember, he is 'busy'!!!). Well, we did two. Guess that means 998 for tomorrow?!? Of course, Grammy stopped by during and after work too.

I spend quite a bit of time with Grandma this evening - we played cards. In some respects she is doing better and in other respects not so much. She is a cutie though with adorable Grandma-isms! She did get moved from 6th to 5th floor tonight. They needed the space on 6th for labor and delivery (this is the OB/GYN/PEDS floor - she was originally here because med/surg was full on Friday). She chuckled when I told her that the only way she could stay was if she was going to have a baby. It was very handy to just be 5 doors away - I was able to check in on her so much today. At least we're all in the same hospital! We're very grateful for that.

Keep the prayers coming and we'll make sure that those IV meds are doing the job on this end. Carson is once again blessed with a wonderful medical team. We've felt a bit out of our element, as this is our first local hospitalization. It is refreshing to not be obsessing over his labs (we're watching them, but they aren't the reason we're here). It has been neat to show him places on this floor - he was born in the OR suite at the end of the hallway and our room was just around the corner from there. He loves to hear stories about his birthday and how I could hardly make it down the hall since I had to pee (again) and was in the midst of contractions. ;-) Brings back some very special memories.

'Til tomorrow, thanks for the prayers and keep them coming!
